Quakerism 101

(The following is a record of the class we did in the Fall of 1997 - which we may repeat in the future.)

We will be starting a 6-part series in Quakerism 101 for Fall of 1997. We have many new members and attenders who would probably appreciate some background on our distinctive identity as Quakers, and our distinctive faith. Experienced Quakers are also welcome, to share insights, and perhaps to learn.

Each session will begin at 9:00 a.m. at SSQQ, and go until about 10:45, before Meeting for Worship.

Each session will cover an honored Quaker personage, a historical period, and a testimony or practice of the Quakers.

  1. Sunday, September 7, 1997: George Fox and Margaret Fell, the beginnings of Quakerism, meeting for worship (led by Susan Long)
