Unfortunately, we cannot currently open the roof due to mechanical problems.
We are in the process of having these issues addressed and will update this message as soon as the problems have been fixed. We will continue to show the skyspace "Night Piece" (with roof closed) on Friday evenings until the roof can be fixed.
Live Oak Friends Meeting invites you to view the James Turrell Skyspace each Friday evening beginning approximately 20 minutes before sunset. The roof will remain open until the sky is completely dark (approximately 40 minutes after sunset). Then we will close the roof and change the light setting to show a second installation by James Turell called "Night Piece." The roof will be opened (and the Skypace shown) only during good weather. The "Night Piece" will be shown regardless of the weather conditions. Call 713-862-6685 for confirmation.
